Rittenhouse TavernOpening in April 2012, Rittenhouse Tavern, located at the Philadelphia Art Alliance (251 South 18th Street), along with Chef Ed Brown, Sr. Vice President of Food and Beverage of Restaurant Associates, is excited to announce and welcome Nicholas Elmi as the restaurant’s Executive Chef. Elmi will execute the day-to-day operations in the kitchen, while working closely with Brown to craft a menu of approachable, seasonal and modern American fare.

For the past three years, Elmi, 31, was the executive chef at the renowned Le Bec Fin, working with Master Chef Georges Perrier. A 2002 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Elmi has worked in kitchens alongside Chris Scarduzio at Brasserie Perrier in Philadelphia and Mia in Atlantic City; Rocco DiSpirito at Union Pacific in New York City, as well as both Cornelius Gallagher and Chris Lee at Oceana Restaurant in New York City. He has also staged at a host of award-winning restaurants, including Guy Savoy in Paris, Daniel and Lutece in New York City and Clio in Boston.

Also joining the Rittenhouse Tavern team is Daniel Elliott, who will serve as General Manager, executing all front of house duties. Elliott most recently opened Hickory Lane in the Fairmount neighborhood of Philadelphia. He brings with him 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked at such venerated Philadelphia restaurants as Oyster House, Rouge, Alma de Cuba and Lacroix.
