Simon Powles

Simon Powles has built his career leading complex hospitality businesses and creating exceptional experiences at some of the industry’s most respected organizations and celebrated destinations. As Executive Vice President of Restaurant Services for Restaurant Associates, he brings extensive expertise in operations, strategic growth, team development, and client partnerships.

Most recently, Simon served as Executive Vice President of Global Client Partnerships for Compass Group, where he supported major client relationships and strategic initiatives across the organization’s global portfolio. Earlier in his career, he partnered with restaurateur Stephen Starr to co-found Starr Catering Group, now known as Constellation Culinary Group. He also held senior leadership positions with Elior Group, Aramark, and Wolfgang Puck Catering. Across these roles, he built high-performing teams, expanded client relationships, strengthened operations, and delivered distinctive dining and event experiences across a diverse range of venues.

Simon’s career also includes several leadership positions with Restaurant Associates, including General Manager at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Regional Director overseeing hospitality operations at the Smithsonian museums. His experience at some of the nation’s most prominent cultural institutions helped shape his thoughtful, guest-focused approach to hospitality and his understanding of the distinctive partnership dynamics required to serve iconic destinations.

In his current role, Simon leads Restaurant Services with a focus on culinary and service excellence, operational performance, sustainable growth, and the continued development of talented teams. His leadership reflects a deep commitment to clients, teams, and the creation of memorable guest experiences.
